[VICTOR news] The annual badminton world championships were held August 8-14 in London. As the venue was next year’s Olympic badminton venue it could be said that this year’s championships were a perfect warm-up for all the players. VICTOR players performed well in the men’s doubles, taking one silver and one bronze.

In the men’s doubless, Ko Sung Hyun/ Yoo Yeon Seong of South Korea were no match for China’s Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng in the final and took second place;it can be expected that the pair’s world ranking will now rise from their current fifth spot.South Korea’s Lee Yong Dae / Jung Jae Sung lost to the same Chinese pair in the quarter-finals, taking a bronze.

Chinese Taipei’s mixed double’s pair Chen Hung Lin/ Cheng Wen Hsin saw off former world number one pair Laybourn/Kamilla in the third round, however, they were unlucky to meet top seeds Zhang Nan/Zhao Yun Lei and were knocked out at the quarter- final stage.
