Jung Jae Sung-Lee Yong Dae

Jung / Lee defeated Denmark’s Boe / Mogensen to claim the men’s doubles title at the Indonesian Open Super Series 2012!!

In the final of the men’s doubles, Jung Jae Sung / Lee Yong Dae beat Denmark’s Boe/Mogensen 23:21, 19:21, 21:11 to take their second successive Super Series title after winning in the UK. The pair hope that this momentum will continue and carry them to gold at the Olympics.

In the first game the Koreans began poorly, their serves and receipt of serves passive, falling behind 0:6; from this point Jung / Lee pulled up their socks and kept the Danes constantly under pressure, staying close behind and causing their opponents to make a series of mistakes in the middle and latter part of the game; Lee’s delicate play in front of the net allowed the Koreans to draw level and, after surviving two match points, they were able to take the first game 23:21.

Jung / Lee continued to play fiercely in the second game, the powerful smashes of Jung from the back of the court coupled with nimble Lee’s interceptions at the net giving them a 17:11 lead at one point; the determined Danes came back to 19:19, however, and then two unfortunate misjudgments in a row by Lee handed the game to the Danes on a plate. In the deciding game, the Danes started off with a series of errors and the Koreans took the chance to open up a lead, going on to win the game 21:11 and take the match, taking their second Super Series title of the year.
