Taiwan’s “golden women’s pair” Chen Wen Hsing-Jian Yu Jing held onto the top spot.
In the latest BWF rankings (February,) Taiwan’s “golden women’s pair” Chen Wen Hsing-Jian Yu Jing held onto the top spot they have occupied since October last year, also successfully overcoming the “China curse” in the VICTOR 2011 Super Series Korea Open” early this year.” The pair are expected to improve still further.
As Taiwan’s first men’s pair to reach the Super Series Finals, Li Sheng Mu and Fang Jie Min haven’t performed outstandingly recently, however, they are still playing consistently and currently rank seventh in the world, while another pair from Taiwan, Lin You Lang and Chen Hong Lin, rank 14th.
As for mixed doubles, Taiwan’s players have jumped up the rankings, with Chen Hong Lin-Chen Wen Hsing and Li Sheng Mu-Jian Yu Jinh now ranked seventh and tenth respectively.
“Taiwan’s ‘wonder girl,” female singles player Tai Tsu Ying, has moved further up the world rankings, and is now placed 22nd, the highest ranked female player from Taiwan at present.
As for South Korean players, the highest ranked in the world at present are Ko Sung Hyun-Yoo Yeon Seong who rank second in the men’s doubles. Popular men’s pair, Lee Yong Dae-Jung Jae Sung ,fresh from their recent victory in the Korea Open, have jumped up to third in the world rankings. Mixed doubles pair Ko Sung Hyun-Ha Jung Eun have moved into the top 10, and are now placed sixth, their performance also catching the eye.
