Koreans need to show their true potential

Sung Hyun has shown himself to be a dark horse in major competitions and now is the time for him to make the step up to the big league.

 

It is all well and good winning a Grand Prix Gold event, but the South Koreans will have to prove they can do it when the big guns from China are around.

Ko Sung Hyun was the big winner at the just concluded Yonex Taipei Grand Prix Gold where he won the men’s and mixed doubles gold medals, upsetting the top seeds in both events in Sunday’s final.

After partnering Eom Hye Won to an upset victory over Indonesia’s Tantowi Ahmad-Liliyana Natsir, he and Yoo Yeon Seong were then paired with highly decorated compatriots Lee Yong Dae-Jung Jae Sung in the doubles final.

They however were on fire to take the title and set themselves up nicely for this week’s Li Ning China Masters Superseries event, the seventh OSIM BWF World Superseries tournament of the year ............FULL ARTICLE
