South Korea and India fought it out for the last ticket to the finals. Although superior, the South Koreans were not complacent and went as far as to change their doubles pairings, a move that worked when Lee Yong Dae / Ko Sung Hyun and Yoo Yeon Seong/Shin Baek Choel both defeated their rivals and took two points for their team. In the men’s singles, Shon Wan Ho won against India’s Varma in three games 21:8,19:21,2:19 after a tough fight, taking a key point for South Korea. Jung Jae Sung, who was out of action with an injured shoulder, should be back for the May finals and will put his team in a good position to take the important two doubles points, taking the power of the Tai-chi Tigers up a notch and making South Korea a team that every other team has to take seriously.
