BWF World Rankings for March 2012

The BWF released the latest world rankings on April 5. In the 2012 All England Open Badminton Championships and the Swiss Open in March Victor stars did outstandingly and all are now well on their way to London for the Olympics. The world number ones for the five badminton disciplines are: men’s singles: Lee Chong Wei, men’s doubles: Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng, women’s single: Wang Yi Han, women’s doubles: Wang Xiao Li/Yu Yang and mixed doubles:Zhang Nan/Zhao Yun Lei.

 

Results of major tournaments in March

World-ranked No.2 pair Lee Yong Dae / Jung Jae Sung took the men’s doubles title at the All England Open against China’s Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng 23:21,21:9,21:14, making the pair more confident of their medal chances at the London Olympics.

Chinese Taipei’s Lee Sheng Mu / Fang Chieh Min got to the last eight stage at the All England Open, then followed up by taking an impressive second place at the Swiss Open! Their world ranking has now risen to 10th.

After taking third place in the men’s singles at the All England Open South Korea’s world-ranked No.7 Lee Hyun-II reached the final at the Swiss Open, ending up with second place. You can be certain that Lee Hyun II will be aiming to take the title at the next tournament.
