The curtain came down on a successful BWF Super Series Finals 2012; even though a few top players pulled out due to injury, the ones that did compete served up a feast of top class badminton for spectators.
China was the biggest winner, taking three golds and three silver medals,with Denmark, which took two golds and a silver in the three doubles disciplines, not far behind.
The men’s singles final was a Chinese “civil war,” Chen Long brushing aside his compatriot, Du Peng Yu, 21:12 and 21:13 ; the women’s singles title was taken by China’s Olympic champion Li Xue Rui .
In the men’s doubles,Boe / Mogensen beat Japan’s top pair Endo / Hayakawa in straight games;the women’s doubles was won by China’s Yu Yang / Wang Xiao Li who beat Denmark’s Juhl / Pedersen 21:16 and 21:14;the mixed doubles was the closest fought of all the finals, with Denmark’s Nielsen/ Pedersen coming back from a game down to beat China’s Zhang Nan / Zhao Yun Lei 17:21, 21:12 and 21:14.
