20-year-old Chae Yoo Jung, a name you probably haven’t heard of a lot, will silently make her debut at BWF Superseries finals in the women’s doubles, alongside Kim So Yeong. The 20-year-old doubles specialist has never made it to the top 70 before 2015, but she is now looking to crack the top 10 for the first time in both women’s and mixed doubles at no.16 and no.11 respectively.
The 2013 World Junior champ has finally translated her youth success to the pro tour in 2015, making the semifinals at Japan Open Superseries (WD) and the Hong Kong Open Superseries (XD). She reached 3 more finals at Grand Prix Gold level all with Shin Baek Choel and was crowned at the recent Macau Open.
Chae and Kim haven’t really had a wowing week this year but they have been extremely consistent to make the most of the high reward of the Superseries events which earn them a spot into the final showdown in Dubai. Their best performance together came in Tokyo where they were bronze medalist.
The 2015 BWF Dubai World Superseries Finals will showcase the top-eight finishers on the BWF Destination Dubai Rankings in men’s and women’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles at the Hamdan Sports Complex from 9-13 December. Team VICTOR’s men’s doubles world no.1 team Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong and Taiwan’s top female, world no.5 Tai Tzu Ying will come back as defending champions.
The draws of groups for each discipline will be done on Monday.
