South Korea’s Ko Sung Hyun overcame fatigue to take home two titles at the Yonex Taipei Open Grand Prix Gold on Sunday when he won the mixed doubles and men doubles crowns at the Shinjuang Stadium.

Korean shuttlers also added the women’s singles and women’s doubles gold medals, with only Indonesia’s Tommy Sugiarto’s men’s singles victory denying them a clean sweep.

Sung Hyun won his two titles in style, beating the top seeds in both events to give him a boost ahead of two upcoming OSIM BWF Superseries events in China and Japan.

In the opening match of the day, Sung Hyun and his partner Eom Hye Won upset top seeds Tantowi Ahmad-Liliyana Natsir in three games to end the Indonesians’ hopes of adding another title to their growing collection.

Sung Hyun-Hye Won were twice on the verge of losing the opening game but fought back to take it 24-22 after winning three consecutive points while 22-21 down.

They were neck-and-neck in the second game until 10-10 when the World Championships bronze medallists surged to a 14-10 lead and never looked back to level the match with a 21-16 victory............ FULL ARTICLE
