The legends have done it again.
Team VICTOR’s
Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeon Seong remained on an unbeaten ten-match roll in Seoul and clinched the Japan-VICTOR Korea Open double.
Lee and
Yoo defeated compatriots
Kim Gi Jung and
Kim Sa Rang, who had scored a string of upsets including a win over China’s highest-ranked pair Zhang Nan/Fu Haifeng to prevent a final rematch of last week’s the Japan Open, and won their first title together at the VICTOR Korea Open.
This is
Lee’s fifth men's doubles victory and
Yoo's first here on home soil. Both threw their VICTOR shirts (check out
Team Korea Sleeveless Top T-5501) in celebration into the crowd who erupted in cheers.
Team VICTOR also took another two silver medals on the doubles field when
Tontowi Ahmad/
Liliyana Natsir in the mixed doubles, and
Chang Ye Na/Lee So Hee in women’s doubles finished as the runners-up later in the final Sunday.
