Jung/Lee overcame their bitter rivals China’s Cai/Fu 2:1 to take the French Open men’s doubles title
【VICTOR news】South Korea’s star pairJung Jae Sung / Lee Yong Dae overcame the challenge of their close rivals, China’s Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng, 14:21, 21:15, 21:11 to take the men’s double crown at the French Open 2011.
This was the pair’s second Super Series win following their recent success at the Denmark Open. This title was also the sixth title the pair have claimed this year, taking them ahead of Cai/Fu who have bagged five, and giving them more titles than any other men’s pair so far this year.
When Jung /Lee beat Cai/Fu at the Denmark Open they took the number of wins against the Chinese pair to nine in their 17 meetings. Victory at the French Open not only gave them their third successive win against their close rivals, it also took the number of wins against the Chinese pair to ten in 18 meetings, a situation that is bound to give Cai/Fu food for thought. In the final of the men’s doubles at the French Open, Cai/Fu went into an early lead, taking the first game fairly easily 21:14; however, Jung /Lee gritted their teeth and pulled ahead in the latter half of the second game, taking it 21:15. In the deciding game, Jung /Lee, brought their big guns into play and totally controlled the net, crushing their opponents, taking the game 21:11 and also the match. The win was also their third straight Super Series win against Cai/Fu.
